RHRMO Stands with the Rwandan Community in Honoring the Lives Lost during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi
On Friday, 17th April 2026, the Rwanda Human Resource Management Organization (RHRMO), together with members of the HR community, gathered at the Kigali Genocide Memorial (Gisozi) to commemorate the 32nd anniversary of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.
The event was a moment of reflection, remembrance, and unity. As we honored the lives lost, we also stood in solidarity with survivors, acknowledging their resilience and the importance of preserving the truth of our history.
Kwibuka is not only a time to remember it is a call to action. As HR professionals, we recognize the critical role we play in shaping workplaces and influencing organizational culture. This responsibility extends beyond policies and procedures; it calls for intentional efforts to build environments rooted in dignity, inclusion, respect, and humanity.
Throughout the commemoration, participants engaged in reflection and shared a collective commitment to ensuring that the values of unity and accountability are upheld in our daily work. It served as a powerful reminder that preventing discrimination, fostering belonging, and promoting ethical leadership are essential in building a future free from division.
We extend our sincere gratitude to all members of the HR community who joined us for this meaningful occasion. Your presence reinforced the importance of standing together not only in remembrance but also in our shared responsibility to contribute to a more just and inclusive society.
As we move forward, may we continue to remember, unite, and renew our commitment to building workplaces that reflect the values we honor during Kwibuka.
